In a statement presented to the proceedings, the mother said the woman had been in the news, asserting her infant's remains had been stolen in a burglary - a claim which was untrue.

Police Investigation

An official inquiry from police later determined the alleged burglary complainant had "lied to police" and "it now appears that said property was never stolen in the beginning".

News coverage about the alleged taken ashes generated online responses, and although Kai was not named in the posts, his parent said individuals "knew it was him".

The "social media content were extremely upsetting", she said.

Emotional Health Impact

She explained that her son had been identified with mild attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and as part of that condition, other individuals' opinions genuinely were important to him.

"It would have hurt him deeply," she commented, "especially when this was untrue".

The teenager was detained at his residence, but nothing was found. He was taken to a police station and later freed under investigation.

Police said they would be in touch, the hearing learned, but had not contacted the relatives by the time of his death.

Isolation and Anxiety

His parent said her son "became isolated" after the arrest and "would keep asking me whether I had heard anything from the police", because his condition meant sometimes "certain periods could feel like days".

When she talked to him about the supposed burglary, she said her child informed her he had entered the house because the resident who resided there had said he could utilize the bathroom anytime he wanted, but refuted taking anything.

Online Bullying

In a joint statement between her and her husband, the mother said her child was being bullied digitally after the accusations.

The inquest heard that one 19-year-old encouraged the teenager to kill himself.

She had no worries on the night before he passed away, explaining how she had listened to him "laughing and joking".

She portrayed him as a "caring, loving" young man, and said her "relatives is totally shattered".

He had been "clearly concealing his concerns", she stated, adding that he could not stand to have anybody "have negative thoughts of him".

The hearing heard from school staff at the local secondary school.

On November 8th, she "heard some boys discussing that Kai had been arrested and that was the first I learned".

"He informed me... he'd done nothing wrong," she added.

After the discussion, the staff member said she called the family's parents' landline and left a voicemail saying she had spoken to the student about the accusations.

The proceedings learned his parents said they did not got that communication.

Delivering a descriptive conclusion, he stated: "Approximately November 8th, 2021, unsubstantiated allegations were made against the teenager, a young child.
