Labuschagne Omitted from Australian One-Day International Team Versus Team India
Labuschagne finds himself omitted from the three-game ODI series against India, with in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw getting a shock inclusion.
Performance Issues Lead to Exclusion
Labuschagne has been omitted from the ODI squad following scoring just one run in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. The right-hander has a top score of 47 in his most recent ten ODI innings.
Labuschagne has played 68 one-day internationals and scored 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now continue to press his claims a Test team comeback in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.
Renshaw's Return and Other Squad Updates
Recent performances suggest of a return to form with 160 for Queensland in the Sheffield Shield this week, while Renshaw scored a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
Renshaw could to make his white-ball international debut in the forthcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.
He has played 14 Tests with the last coming in India in 2023 but is also seeking a Test return as Australia search for a solution to their top-order woes.

Mitch Marsh will lead both the ODI and T20 sides after hitting a ton in the last match against New Zealand to secure a series clean sweep last week.
“We have named a squad for the ODI series and first two games of the T20 series as there will be rotation through the later stages of the series as players get ready for the summer through Sheffield Shield cricket,” Australia chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“The bulk of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an important period in the build towards the World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously get ready certain individuals for the Test series ahead.”
