Disturbing Footage Reveals Point Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Ambush
A police sergeant that leaped to the assistance of a fellow officer who was ambushed by a blade-wielder received the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.
Sgt Tim Ansell grappled with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he placed a knife to the throat of his fellow officer Sgt Marc Foster.
Brown initiated the assault as the policemen and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a driver subsequent to a vehicle incident in the area in mid-2023.
Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a electric weapon.
"Policeman stabbed," PC Wolstencroft could be heard saying over his radio.
Officer-mounted and dashboard camera footage shared by the police department showed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a hood up, rush to Sgt Foster from the rear with a blade pointed forward.
He ran into the policeman who tripped and went down to the ground, before Sgt Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground even though being continually attacked with the knife.
PC Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a safe opportunity, bringing the confrontation to an end.
Sergeant Ansell can be heard to say: "Please provide assistance on my neck here, I got knifed in the neck."
Sgt Ansell suffered multiple open wounds to his throat and further cuts to his limbs and body, whereas Sgt Foster experienced knife wounds.
Officials stated Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his fellow officer's hemorrhaging before medical personnel came.
The latest award comes after the three officers won departmental Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the police federation award from the area officer association in early 2024.
They further earned a North West Bravery Award in mid-2024.
"The actions of each policeman ultimately protected themselves and ensured no civilians suffered any injuries."
Brown was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in spring 2024, as stated by authorities.
